In the middle of huge forest, a symbol of the French Renaissance, looms up out of swamps of the Sologne region of France, Chambord was the fruit of the imagination of Francis I, King of France.
Chambord marked the begining of the French Renaissance, cleverly combining Italian principles and French traditions.
The Chambord estate is enclosed by a nearly 32 km long surrounding wall. One thousand hectares of the Chambord national wildlife reserve are open for walks and for viewing wild animals thanks to observatories that are accessible year-round.
